Matching Pair of Ammonites - Polished

Matching pair of fossilized Ammonites that are polished and cut to show their inner structure. Each one measures almost 4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches and come with stands. 

The inside has amazing colors that range from light browns, grays and druzy in the chambers. 
 The backs have very nice iridescence. 

Ammonites ruled the Oceans for 370 million years before mysteriously becoming extinct at the end of the cretaceous period.

Ammonites had a head with mouth surrounded into chambers.

A type of mollusc, they are related to Nautiloids Squid and Octopus.
